Australian Cane Farmers Association (ACFA)
- Established in 1987, ACFA is a voluntary, independent association dedicated to protecting its members' interests. Its members' are cane growers from New South Wales and Queensland.
Australian Sugar Milling Council (ASMC)
- ASMC was established in 1987 to represent Australian raw sugar mill owners. It is the peak policy forum for mill owners.
Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations (BSES)
- BSES undertakes research in soils and agronomy, agricultural engineering, cane breeding, biotechnology, entomology, pathology, sugar milling technology and sugar quality.
CANEGROWERS
- CANEGROWERS is the peak representative body for Australian sugarcane growers. Around 80% of Queensland sugarcane growers are members of the highly successful lobby, representation and services group. The organisation was established in 1925 under Queensland Government legislation.
Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Sustainable Sugar Production
- The CRC for Sustainable Sugar Research (CRC Sugar) was formed in 1994 to research and develop technologies and management practices which will sustain soil and water resources and minimise any adverse environmental impact of sugar cane production. The CRC Sugar officially ended its term of operation on June 30, 2003, however a static website remains available to facilitate ongoing access by researchers and end users to key research and development outputs.
Global Sugar Alliance for Sugar Trade Reform and Liberalisation
- The Global Alliance for Sugar Trade Reform and Liberalisation was established during in November 1999 when members (Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, India, Guatemala, South Africa and Thailand) agreed and signed a communiqué calling for WTO agreement on agriculture that includes positive, progressive and meaningful reform of the world sugar market by ensuring that sugar is included as an important element of the agricultural trade agenda.

Sugar Research and Development Corporation (SRDC)
- SRDC is a statutory body responsible for identifying and funding strategic research and development activities for the raw sugar industry in consultation with the industry, and enters agreements with research organisations to conduct the research.
Sugar Research Institute (SRI)
- SRI is the research and development arm of the Australian raw sugar milling industry. Its activities include basic applied research projects, improving raw sugar processing and the design of process equipment.
