Queensland Sugar Limited undertakes export sales direct to raw sugar refiners across a range of countries. Due to its geographical proximity, over 90% of export sales are to raw sugar refiners in Asia, a large raw sugar deficit region. Sales are also concluded to customers throughout North America, South Asia and the Middle East.

The majority of other surplus raw sugar producers sell to tradehouses that in turn sell to sugar refiners around the world. Under this model the raw sugar producer has no relationship with the sugar refiner that takes delivery for processing. In the case of Queensland Sugar Limited, sales are concluded direct with the end user. All sales are concluded on a C&F or CIF basis.
